So following on with the overall topic of the medium is the message, I wanted to see if I could create a post so meta that the post itself could become what the post is about. So here it is, a post with a title so incredibly click-bait-y that is about click bait that you click it. I know I know it’s QUITE confusing but hear me out. Why on earth would you click on this title if you knew what click bait was and wanted to know more? Are people really gullible enough to fall for this? For example, here’s exactly what you thought you’d find when you clicked the title –> HERE. You know you want to click it. Even though it might be completely fake, it might not be.

This relates to developing a social media persona in that many MANY persona’s online use these exact tactics to gain views/follows/subscriptions. Even huge youtube channels like PewDiePie, the largest single personality on YouTube.

  1. Love this! What a great concept and total mind game. I know I have been victim of the infamous click bait every now and again… so I guess it is a good tactic to draw in an audience even though it can be frustrating haha. Awesome post!
